Abstract

Indonesian society is generally a heterocentric society, where men and women pair up. However, the fact is that there are other couples that we cannot deny, namely the homosexual couple. Being homosexual in a heterocentric society is certainly not an easy thing. This causes homosexual couples to have a process of intimacy and forms of commitment that may be different from heterosexual couples in general.This research method uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection methods used were interviews and observation. The data analysis used was a word organizing, reduction, coding, categorization, interpretation . The results of this study indicate that the intimacy process that occurs in Muslim homosexuals is not much different from heterosexuals. What distinguishes it is that emotions, attraction, and mindset affect the attachment of homosexual intimacy. Besides, the forms of homosexual commitment also vary. Some want a marriage like, adopt a child and values in an Islamic household. However, some want a marriage like, don't want to adopt children because offspring is not an important thing and don't want to apply values in an Islamic household. Apart from this, it turns out that some do not want commitment because they think that being homosexual is a bad thing and not something that can be tied with commitment.
