Abstract

This study aims to: 1) present and describe the implementation of early childhood healthy behavior; 2) knowing the impact of implementing early childhood healthy behavior; and 3) knowing the role of implementing healthy behavior in early childhood. This research is a type of field research, with a qualitative approach. The data sources used primary data in the form of interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), questionnaires, observation and documentation, and secondary data in the form of books and journal articles. The speakers in this study were the teacher, the head of TK Masyithoh Dukuh, and the parents of the students. The data collection techniques are observation, documentation, interview, FGD, and questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The implementation of healthy behavior for early childhood at Masyithoh Dukuh Kindergarten has been carried out well in accordance with the recommendations of the Directorate of Early Childhood Development in 2020 regarding 4 healthy living behaviors in schools, namely: urinating and defecating in latrines; washing hands with soap; drink water and eat a healthy and hygienic diet; dispose of trash in its place and keep the environment clean and safe; 2) The impact of the implementation of early childhood healthy behavior in Masyithoh Dukuh Kindergarten, namely: students are comfortable learning at school; students know and are able to implement healthy life behaviors; students feel happy to carry out a healthy lifestyle; students respond happily and enthusiastically when the teacher teaches healthy living behaviors; the contribution made by the teacher by teaching healthy living behaviors and reminding children to carry out healthy living behaviors; the constraints faced by teachers are related to learning strategies and during the pandemic they cannot monitor children directly; and 3) The important role of implementing healthy behavior for early childhood in Masyithoh Dukuh Kindergarten, namely: getting children to have a healthy lifestyle; creation of healthy schools; the increasing enthusiasm of the teaching and learning process; the image of the school as a means of education is increasing; the increasing image of the government in the health sector; and can be a pilot for healthy schools for other areas.
