Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Produce a sound based mass measuring instrument for visually impaired students in MAN 2 Sleman, (2) Determine the quality of a sound based mass measuring instrument for visually impaired students in MAN 2 Sleman, (3) Determine the implementation and response of participants students of a sound based mass measuring instrument for visually impaired students in MAN 2 Sleman. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) research with the development model used is a procedural model. The development procedure uses the 4D model which includes Define (defining study stage), Design (design stage), Develop (development), and Disseminate. The instruments used in this study were validation sheet, assessment sheet, the student response sheet, and the implementation test observation sheet. Assessment of the quality of a voice-based mass measuring instrument uses a Likert scale with a scale of 4 and student responses use the Guttman scale which is made in the form of a checklist. As for the product feasibility test using descriptive observation sheets and the Guttman scale. Drawing conclusions on the implementation of the observation sheet in the form of a narrative and comparing other data such as student responses and the researchers' own observations. The results of this study (1) Produce a sound based mass measuring instrument for blind students in MAN 2 Sleman along with a manual for the use of tools using printed letters, braille letters, and softfiles in PDF format. (2) The quality of the product based on the material expert's assessment has Very Good quality (SB) with a score of 4.00, the media expert's assessment has Very Good quality (SB) with a score of 3.88, the teacher's assessment has Very Good quality (SB) with a score of 4,00. The response of blind students to the product in the limited test was 0,97 and the broad test was 0,99. The feasibility test is based on the observations of the observer, that students can use measuring instruments independently with a 100% percentage of product implementation using Interjudge Agreement (IJA). The results of the measurement accuracy of this product are 99,99% and 99,99% precision.
