Abstract

This study aims to know misconception of magnetism material in class X SMK Muhammadiyah Pakem. Identification of misconceptions of magnetic material is known by using a two-tier multiple choice diagnostic test instrument with google form media. This research is directed at identifying the misconceptions of vocational students with the magnetic material at Muhammadiyah Pakem Vocational School. This type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative research.This research was conducted in the uneven semester of the 2020/2021 school year in October and November 2020 at SMK Muhammadiyah Pakem. The sample consisted of 20 class X students of the Building Modeling and Information Design (DPIB) expertise program. Data were collected by means of a written test in the form of a two-tier multiple choice. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive techniques. Percentage data is presented in the form of tables and graphical images. The results showed that the highest misconception occurred in the competence regarding knowledge of the concept of magnetism in solenoids and toroid by 47.5%, followed by knowledge of magnetism (42.8%), knowledge of the concept of applying magnetism (39.2%), knowledge of magnetic field (37.5%) and finally knowledge of the concept of the magnetic force or Lorenz force (28.3%).
