Abstract

The background of this research is to see the extent to which classroom teachers at the SD / MI level can improve their professional competence, especially in the indicators of competency for continuous professional development, in the midst of technological developments and dynamic progress. This research discusses the competence of continuous professional development of classroom teachers at MI Ma'arif Patalan as well as knowing what strategies have been carried out to develop their sustainable professions. It is hoped that this research can become a means of developing theory and benchmarks for schools in seeing the extent to which teachers can develop their sustainable professions at MI Ma'arif Patalan. This research is a field work research with a qualitative approach. Collecting data in this study using observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis used in this study was through data reduction, data display, and verification. Test the validity of the data in this study using triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the class teachers at MI Ma'arif Patalan have reflected on performance, including conducting classroom action research and utilizing the results of these reflections in order to improve continuous professionalism, also do not shut themselves off from the current progress of the times by learning from various sources. . This is because classroom teachers implement the following strategies to improve professional competence: (1) participate in competency-based training, (2) participate in traditional training courses and programs, (3) read and write journals or other scientific papers, ( 4) participate in scientific conferences or meetings, (5) attend general lectures or scientific presentations, (6) research (especially classroom action research), (7) have internships for new teachers, (8) use media sources news, and (9) actively participate in organizations / professional communities.
