Abstract

The involvement of religious and community leaders in a political activity is not something strange at this time. The religious and community leaders who are involeved in politics certainly has different goals, such as the village head election that took place in Bojong Kulur, Gunung Putri, Bogor. In this village, many religious and community leaders have joined the Pilkades activities and are scattered in each camp of the village head candidates. The involvement of religious and community leaders is one of the causes of conflict between the camps of the candidate for village head, which causes feuds among the village community. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach that aims to describe the involvement of MUI figures in the political activities of village head elections. The formulations of the problem include : How is the political communication of MUI in the pilkades at Bojong Kulur village? How where the MUI figures involved in the Pilkades of Bojong Kulur village? How is the dakwah communication carried out by MUI figures in minimizing pilkades conflict? And, what dakwah strategies are used by MUI figures in minimizing pilkades conflict in Bojong Kulur village? To find out the involvement of MUI figures in Pilkades activities, researchers used political communication theory to determine the involvement of preachers, used social conflict theory to find out the kinds of conflicts that occurred in the village, and used dakwah communication theory to find out the communication carried out by preachers also know the dakwah strategies used by the preachers. The result of the study found that the political communication of MUI figures during the pilkades activity was as a success team, supporters and advisors only, not as a candidate for village head. Meanwhile, his involvement as a communicator who occupies the position of politician and opinion leader activist. Da’wah communication is carried out by MUI by providing knowledge and advice about politics to the community and carrying out various kinds of da’wah strategies in order to minimize conflicts that occur in the community.
