Abstract

The spread of the mission of Christianization and the worship of the people became a phenomenon that will continue to occur. People with a weak foundation aqidah become the main target to launch a mission movement oriented to the recruitment of as many congregations as possible. In fact, this happened to the community in Tugunongko Hamlet, Ponorogo Regency. Tugunongko community is a suburban community that falls into the low economic category. Socialization of christianization mission is carried out by efforts to fulfill the basic needs of the community to justify the new economic and religious state as the value of existence of the mission. The massive spread of the mission raised concerns for the Muhammadiyah Tabligh Assembly (MTM). As a da'wah institution, MTM has full authority to fortify the mission movement in order to maintain the existence of Islam with da'wah. The da'wah movement began by optimizing the program of Islamization by inviting the community to become converted and return to practice the teachings of Islam in a kaffah. The process of da'wah approach is carried out through persuasive communication strategies oriented towards the formation of beliefs and attitudes to form a new level of life based on Islamic teachings. This type of research is qualitatively descriptive with a case study approach. Qualitative research methodology is used by the author to know how the implementation of the da'wah movement, persuasive communication process in da'wah, as well as the urgency of the da'wah movement in the muallaf community. The results showed that the implementation of the muhammadiyah Tabligh Assembly da'wah movement is the implementation of multi-faceted bil da'wah. Da'wah activities are carried out using persuasive communication components such as communication processes, forms of communication, communication techniques and credibility of sources that play an important role in realizing the success of da'wah. In addition, in order to minimize the movement of christianization mission and the reoccurrence of the people makes the movement of da'wah important to be implemented consistently and sustainably. There are four main factors that form the basis of the importance of the da'wah movement implemented in the muallaf community, among others: maintaining the existence of Islam, the planting of aqidah as a guideline of Islam, the development of the people, as well as the strengthening of ukhuwah islamiyah as a source of strength of the people. Efforts to progress and continue the religion of Islam and the community muallaf become a great responsibility of the Assembly tabligh Muhammadiyah in order to promote the establishment of islamic teachings in Tugunongko Hamlet, Ponorogo Regency.
