Abstract

Information technology from time to time is developing more rapidly, every individual in any part of the world must have at least 2 applications that support communication, then get benefits in using social media which can then become a means or media to market excellence, achievements, and addresses educational institutions by reaching out to a very broad range of social media, thus making social media as one of the main means of increasing enrollment in new students as well as a means of marketing the digital era as it is today. There is a problem at the Darunnajah Islamic School in South Jakarta where social media managers do not play an active role in managing their social media. This study aims to determine efforts to improve the competence of social media managers in Darunnajah Islamic School in South Jakarta. The author wants to describe in detail about the situation, activities, events and certain phenomena, the writer will describe the opinions directly from people who are experienced in the institution, in this study using descriptive qualitative methods, as for data collection techniques using methods of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this study uses descriptive analysis method with an interactive model consisting of four processes namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Efforts to Improve the Competence of Social Media Managers at Darunnajah Islamic Kindergarten, South Jakarta have been going well in increasing the competence of social media managers, but communication between social media managers and teachers and the community through social media still needs to be improved again, there are many ways to social media managers communicate with the community through social media, then there are several inhibiting factors that have not been resolved, for supporting factors that have gone well, social media managers still do not have analytical skills, visual skills, and expertise in managing social media maximally so that social media has not been properly managed by teachers who have been appointed to manage social media. Social media managers are required to attend social media admin training organized by the committee, in order to evaluate the performance of social media managers and find solutions for social media managers to improve their skills, analytical skills and visual abilities of social media managers. If the social media manager does not have communication between managers, it will indirectly make it difficult for social media managers to personally experience problems and difficulties when they do not have new ideas. Social media managers do not get incentives after uploading articles, activities or when participating in competitions.
