Abstract

This research is motivated by: 1) advancing age development, where surveys say Indonesia’s internet users reached 196.7 million. And the average teens using the internet, asit happens in Junior High School 8 Yogyakarta, there are students whi feel the negative effects of the digital age. 2) the digital age have made the students to use gadget and to access anything they want easily.3) the role of Islamic education teachers in the digital age is essential to instilling religious values. This research aims to describe the impact of the digital age on school students, a teacher’s strategy on instilling Islamic values in schools and other traditional Islamic values instilled in schools in the digital age. The research used field research type with analytic descriptive qualitative. The data sources of the research included: 1) head of the school, 2) three teachers, and 3) five students participants. In collecting the data, the reasearcher used obeservations, interview and documentation The result of the research showed that: 1) the impact of the current digital age on participants in Junior High School 8 Yogyakarta it covers a few deviations like play excessive, courting, bullying and viewing of pornographic movies that cause a drop in school grades, but it can be minimized by a rule requiring that all cellphones taken to school be collected in the box that has been provided by a-first period teacher or homeroom teacher. 2) a teacher’s strategy or action in instilling the virtues of Islamic education on a protégé includes: preventative action, through reading the qur’an in the morning before beginning the first lesson, praying at dhuha, praying at dzuhur, the seven minute lecture and the glorious summary of the book akidah; repressive action, through guidance and counsel, establishes school discipline, application of sanctions and parent callings; and qurative actions, through suspension and return of students to parents. 3) the islamic religious values instilled in learners include I’tiqodiyah, through seven minute lecture, praying at dhuha, praying at dzuhur in school; Khuluqiyah values, bu implanting courtesy, discipline and abiding order; and Amaliyah values through reading the qur’an in the morning before beginning the first lesson, praying at dhuha, praying at dzuhur, the seven minute lecture and the glorious summary of the book akidah.
