Abstract

The background of this research is that educational institutions in one of the Kendal districts namely SMK Negeri 1 Kendal, have an Adiwiyata program which every day has rules to always maintain cleanliness in the school environment and has rules to always carry a tumbler and personal lunch box with the aim of minimizing incoming plastic waste. Into the school environment. The main reason for implementing the Adiwiyata program is eliminating apathy towards environmental cleanliness as an example of not caring about the environment that when there is garbage scattered around the school environment, it is left alone whitout any behavior to treat the environment to keep it clean. This research is a qualitative type of research in the form of field research. The approach used in this research is a case study which takes the background at SMK Negeri 1 Kendal. The subject of this study were the staff in the curriculum field, the Adiwiyata program coordinator and supervisor as well as representatives of 11 and 12 grade student at SMK Negeri 1 Kendal. Data collection techniques from this study were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used in this research is data reduction, data presentation and data conclusion/verification. The data validity technique used triangulation of data sources and triangulation of data collection techniques. The results showed that 1) the Adiwiyata program implementation technique at SMK Negeri 1 Kendal has three techniques, namely technical planning by forming the Adiwiyata team composition from all elements of the school community. The technical implementation of the program is by carrying out all program activities that have been designed, such as clean Friday, waste bank management carrying a tumbler and personal lunch box and reforestation and plastic waste management. Adiwiyata program evaluation technique is held every two month to assess program that are already two months to assess programs that are already running and improve program that have not been maximally implemented. 2) The process of internalizing human ecological values through the Adiwiyata program has three stages, namely the value transformation stage through the implementation of slogans installed in the school environment, that value transaction stage through implementation in the form of habituation created from the rules for implementing cleaning pickets and carrting tumblers and personal lunch box and the trans-internalizition stage through the implementation of the example of the principal, the board of teacher and employees who continue to provide behavior to throw garbage in the provided place and show participatory attitudes in all Adiwiyata activities. 3) The impact of internalizing human ecological values through the Adiwiyata program has two impacts, first having acharacter or culture to maintain environmental cleanliness in the form of disposing of garbage in the provided place, carrying out cleaning schedule activities in the scholl environment and always carrying a tumbler and personal lunch box. Both all school members, especially students, have the ability to manage waste in the school environment, such as creating handicrafts in the from of bags from plastic waste raw material and making fertilizer from waste available in waste banks.
