Abstract

Syari'ah Bank is a financial institution that operates on the basis of shari'ah law. This institution was founded on the basis of the desire of the community, especially Muslims, to avoid interest or usury. From 2020 to the present, all countries including Indonesia are facing a problem, namely the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus which has now become a pandemic, a sector that is sufficiently affected by this problem is the economic sector, in this case Syari'ah Banking also feels the impact of this problem. , then the marger efforts made by the three largest Syari'ah Banks in Indonesia (PT. BRI, BNI and Mandiri) resulted in the opinion that there is monopolistic practice as regulated in Law No. 5 of 1999 concerning the prohibition of monopoly because Bank Syari'ah's market share will control market, another problem is that it is increasingly difficult to obtain Human Resources (HR), especially those to be employed in the Syari'ah Business Unit (UUS), because most of UUS's HR is recruits from its conventional parent bank. Some of the problems above are quite influential on the survivability or resilience of Syari'ah Banks, especially in 2020-2021, for that it is necessary to conduct research on how the resilience or survivability of Syari'ah Banks in 2020-2021. The types, methods and research approaches that will be used in this thesis are the type of library research (Library / Literature Research), with qualitative data analysis methods based on an interpretive approach, namely by collecting various data from reading sources such as books, journals consisting of theses, dissertations. , articles and news from the website as secondary data. Then the data from these reading sources will be further analyzed to get answers related to the problems being researched. The results of this study indicate that the survivability of Syari'ah Bank in 2020- 2021 is in a stable position, this is because Syari'ah Bank has several indicators of survivability, there are three main indicators of survivability itself, first, adaptability, the problem of spreading the Covid Virus. -19 that has occurred to date, has had quite an impact on the financial sector, Syari'ah Bank has become one of the affected institutions, however, it is noted that Syari'ah Bank has been able to adapt to these problems, so that its survivability is maintained until now, second, Having a strategy, strategy becomes the second indicator of survivability, this research shows that Syari'ah Bank already has and implements several strategies, one of which is supported by Law 21 of 2008 concerning Islamic Banking Third ,Harnessing Opportunities and Minimizing Challenges, from this indicator, most Syari'ah Banks nationally are able to take advantage of opportunities so that challenges in 2020-2021 can be minimized so that their resilience can be maintained to this day.
