Abstract

The background of this research is that the level of students' awareness of discipline is still very low. educational practices that contain inequality in the sense that smart students pay more attention to the teacher than students who are less intelligent, this kind of action will prevent students from developing. The implementation of Islamic Education learning always receives criticism and the effectiveness of learning is always doubted by various parties, including: parents, schools and society in general. Therefore, it is necessary to have an appropriate approach to foster students' self-awareness of the importance of discipline, one of which is humanist-religious approach. This type of research is a field study with a qualitative approach. The model used in this research is a case study. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. While the data source used in this study used two sources, namely secondary data sources and primary data sources. The model data analysis technique consists of several stages, namely reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of the study showed that 1) Discipline of students at SMAN 1 Sembalun was quite good, but there were those who still violated the rules, even though they had been explained and there were sanctions for those who broke them. However, they are still considered light violations and can be given direction. 2) The form of a humanist-religious approach in order to improve student discipline at SMAN 1 Sembalun is carried out in various ways, namely through curricular, extracurricular activities and school culture. 3) Success in improving student discipline through a humanist-religious approach to Islamic Religious Education at SMAN 1 Sembalun, Discipline in doing tasks as their obligation, discipline in the rules that have been made collectively and during discussions or in the learning process, and discipline in school entry . In addition, the implications of the humanistreligious approach in improving student discipline include fostering an attitude of responsibility, mutual kinship and self-sacrifice in students.
