Abstract

This research started from the paradigm which used at UIN Sunan Kalijaga that the integration-interconnection paradigm so that every subject must integrated. The Approach in Islamic Studies is a compulsory subject in The PAI master program must be integrated with religious and scientific sciences, so that It needs lecturers who only master the two scientific concepts. Meanwhile, lecturers who teach in terms of educational background come from Islamic higher education. Meanwhile, in teaching, it must be able to integrate religion and science in the subject matter. This research was conducted using qualitative method of case study in Master study program of the Islamic Religious Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The method of data collection used was observation, interviews, and documentation.The Interviews were conducted with three lecturers of Approach in Islamic Studies, the head of the PAI Study Program, and three college students. The Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, namely Data analysis was carried out in steps: data reduction, data display and data verification. The data validity test used triangulation technique namely suber triangulation and technical triangulation. The results showed that first, the suitability of the assignment of lecturers with the appropriate field of expertise, both in accordance with the background of lecturer education, SK or educational certificates, and the results of research conducted and self-development conducted by the lecturer.This can be seen from the finding that there are two lecturers with doctorate educational background in the Department of Islamic Studies and one lecturer at the Department of Islam Religious Education. Furthermore, the lecturer's scientific work is closely related to the approach In Islamic Studies. Second, the lecturers' scientific mastery of learning approaches in Islamic studies from the perspective of integration-interconnection has been able to master the material extensively, both in terms of scientific concepts and self-development. This can be seen in the mastery of material by the lecturer in the field of philosophy, material, strategy and the methodology level in the subject of Approach in Islamic Studies. Third, the lecturer strategy in development of the Approach in Islamic Studies course, namely (1) the development of teaching materials, namely the development of materials with religious studies and science and also the current issues. (2) The teaching method used is in the form of discussion method and assignment in the form of library research. As for strategy in self-development in order to be able to integrate learning namely by being actively involved in the socialization of integration-interconnection, ownership books and actively doing research.
