Abstract

This research starts from the professional competence of Islamic Education teachers in utilizing ICT not only focusing on the interests of teaching and learning activities. As if, the use of ICT is only a medium that can support the successful of learning. But it mentioned in the Government Regulation No. 74 of 2008 that the use of information and communication technology for teachers is to develop themselves. It clearly makes sure that there is a need for awareness of Islamic Education teachers to implement self-development strategies within their professional competence. This research is a qualitative research located at SMK Negeri 1 Ponjong with the consideration that the school has sufficient ICT facilities for all school members. The method of data collection was carried out by online observation to see the professional competence of Islamic Education teachers in utilizing ICT, direct and structured interviews and collecting documentation data. The Interview was conducted with two Islamic Education teachers and the principal. the data analysis used with the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions / verification. The data validity test used triangulation techniques, namely triangulation of sources and triangulation of techniques. The results showed that first, PAI teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Ponjong carried out self-development strategies because of the need for teaching and learning activities that require ICT and also an effort to improve their abilities and skills in the field of ICT. Second, the use of ICT for PAI teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Ponjong has been good. This is evidenced by some mastery of both ICT devices and several other supporting applications such as Youtube, interactive multimedia, Power Point, Kine Master, Filmora, and so on. Third, some self-development strategies were carried out by PAI teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Ponjong in utilizing ICT. In self-development, PAI teachers use the stageis self control, self awarness, motivation, empathy and the last stage is social skills that support the improvement of self developmentfor PAI teachers.
