Abstract

The focus of this research are: (1) Persuasive approach in planting multicultural values in SMP Negeri 01 Jaten, (2) Cultivating multicultural values through Islamic education in SMP Negeri 01 Jaten. The location of this research is in SMP Negeri 01 Jaten Karanganyar Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. While the data collection techniques used interview, observation and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques in this thesis research are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions and data validity techniques that use triangulation. The research results obtained are: (1) The persuasive approach taken by the teacher in instilling multicultural values is to communicate well in the learning process, understand the diverse backgrounds of students and use the right method in the learning process. (2) Multicultural values instilled through Islamic Education learning are three things. First, it produces an inclusive nature in students, namely openness in thinking and acting on everything. Both characteristics prioritize active dialogue in respecting diversity so that students have the ability to live in differences. The three characteristics of humanity and justice to all humans, both individuals and groups.
