Abstract

This research is motivated by the high dropout rate due to the large number of families or parents who cannot afford to pay for their children to get an education. Therefore, by reducing the dropout rate, institutions can innovate in developing education financing. One solution to developing education financing is philanthropy-based education financing. The purpose of this study is to knowing management, implication strategies and funding of philanthropic-based education in empowering poor children. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of field research. The research's data sources were extracted by means of observation, interviews with several relevant informants, and documentation. The research location in the amil zakat institution at Solopeduli Karanganyar Regency. The result are (1) management financing educating in the form of planning, including making a vision and mission, determine strategies in collecting and distributing ZISWAF funds, determine the annual budget work meeting (RKAT) for the distribution of education financing. The implementation of education funding is channeled through scholarships, including formal and non-formal education. Supervision and auditing, where the form of supervision from Solopeduli is held in internal and external forms to find out the condition of the school, the physical condition of students and so on. (2) the implementation strategy of collecting and distributing funds using online and offline strategies. (3) The implication of education financing in Solopeduli is the creation of free educational institutions for poor children. In his empowerment of Solopeduli has 589 alumni, where this alumni has worked and businessmen.
