Abstract

This study aims to determine the user's perception of interior color in the Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Middle School Library. This type of research includes quantitative research with users as research subjects and the object of research, namely the user's perception of interior colors in the Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Middle School Library. The population in this study were students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta with a total of 805 students. The sample of this study was 50 students and the data collection techniques used were questionnaire, observation and interview techniques. The validity tester uses product moment correlation. As for reliability testing using Cronbach's alpha. The data analysis method used in this study is arithmetic calculation using the mean and grand mean, to conclude the measurement results using an interval scale. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2016. The results of this study indicate the user's perception of interior colors in the Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Middle School Library with an average value of 3.05 in the interval 2.51 – 3.25. Based on these results, suggestions are given to the Mumtaz Library manager in order to maintain the use of interior colors by adding some interior colors as well as enlarging the library room so that the users, in addition to considering it as recreation, also do not forget the main function of the school library by paying attention to the indicators that have the lowest average value.
