Abstract

This study aims to find out the standard of ergonomics in work facilities in the Bantul District Public Library with an anthropometry approach. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were six pustakwawan who worked in the service section of the Bantul District Public Library and the object of this research was work facilities in the library in the form of chairs, tables, shelves and cabinets. Data collection using interviews, observations and documentation. The process of data analysis using data reduction methods, data presentation and conclusions. In this study, the data validity test using credibility test method using increased perseverance, triangulation, membercheck, and using reference materials. A Measure in this study is the human dimension. With a seat size that pays attention to the anthropometry aspect has a length (width of seating) 42. 32 cm and for the height (height of the base of the floor) 44.07 cm, the height of the ergonomic table is 68.72 cm, the size of the cupboards and shelves has a maximum upper shelf range of 190 cm. The results showed work facilities in the Bantul District Public Library that meet the principle of anthropometry found only in reference cupboards, encyclopedia cupboards and display cupboards, while for tables, chairs and shelves have not been in accordance with the principle of anthropometry. Recommendations to obtain optimal design by determining the dimensions of the body to be used that the dimensions of the body will be used to operate the design, and determining the population for the sample can thus choose the application of anthropometric principles.
