Abstract

The study entitled "The Suitability of Library Spatial Planning for Persons with Disabilities in SD Tumbuh 3 Based on Accessibility Analysis Ifla Library Access for Persons with Disabilities Checklist”. This study aims to analyze and describe the spatial design of the library for persons with disabilities in the SD Tumbuh 3 library using the IFLA Checklist model. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. The research refers to the standard guidelines IFLA Checklist refers to the library accessibility model. Test the validity of the data using membercheck triangulation technique; data reduction, data presentation and verification (drawing conclusions). From the results of the research that has been done, the level of conformity is 16% of the 31 indicators or 16/31×100% = 51.6%. Meanwhile, 15% of the 31 indicators do not match or 15/31×100%=48.3%. Thus it can be said that the SD Tumbuh 3 library is in accordance with the IFLA Checklist standard. Some data that shows conformity with the IFLA Checklist standard include clear symbols, collection shelf heights, unobstructed passageways between shelves and books, a rotating area for wheelchair users, sturdy and strong chairs, a waiting room area for queuing to enter the library. While those that are not suitable include automatic doors, ramp, fire alarm, toilet room entrance, wheelchair accessible alarm buttons, circulation desks, reference table and loop induction system. Suggestions from researchers to the SD Tumbuh 3 library that is, there needs to be improvements and improvements in improving or develop a library because the school accepts students with disabilities.
