Abstract

Masjid Sabilillah is a place of worship which is known as a national monument. The people of Malang know that this mosque was motivated by the independence war on November 10, 1945 in Surabaya. It is through this history that this mosque is known as a mosque of struggle, when entering 1970 there began to be restoration and development of this mosque. KH. Masjkur and KH. Tholchah Hasan is a series of scholars who help in the progress of the Sabilillah Mosque, as four soothing prayers for everyone, and both of them also contribute in their respective fields in the development of the mosque. Taking the researcher's study of this mosque began in 1980, because during that period, there had been a number of activities and infrastructure to improve non-formal education and there were already Islamic schools, under the auspices of the Sabilillah Mosque, namely TK Sabilillah. only used for places of worship, but also a place to add other knowledge. In the eyes of researchers, the establishment of the Sabilillah Mosque from 1980 to 2014, there were significant changes. In 90 there was an SD, then in 2004 there was a SMP, and in 2014 there was a SMA. Not only that, the non-formal education in Sabilillah continues to develop, and is adapted to the needs of the community, so that many residents gradually flock to this mosque. Based on the information obtained by researchers, that this mosque also develops management and expands to various other sectors, especially the socio-economy which is very much needed by the community. Starting from 1980 to 2014, the researcher found that there were several aspects of social change in society, including the progress of education, Malang people began to become aware of formal and non-formal education. Then there is Lazis Sabilillah's services in the economic sector, medical services in the health sector, boarding schools in the religious sector, and community social interactions. The vision of the Sabilillah mosque is to provide the needs of the community, in order to achieve a developed human resource. So the researchers used several theories, including historical theory, then Selo Soemardjan about social change. Historical writing is also inseparable from heuristics, interpretations, lyrics, and historiography, as steps that must be used as benchmarks in writing historical writing.
