Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment is a phenomenon that cannot be excluded in macroeconomics. Foreign Direct Investment is the one of an important indicator in managing a country’s economy.This study aimed to analyze whether there is a causal relationship between research variables of economic growth, exports, imports, and inflation on Foreign Direct Investment in 8 ASEAN countries. This study uses annual data for the period 2009-2018. The analytical method used is the cuantitative method that used secondary data obtained from World Bank. The analytical instrument used in this research is Panel Vector Autoregression (PVAR). The result showed that : 1) there is a causal relationship from economic growth to Foreign Direct Investment, 2) there is a causal relationship from exports to Foreign Direct Investment, 3) there is a causal relationship from imports to Foreign Direct Investment, 4) there is a causal relationship from Foreign Direct Investment to inflation.
