Abstract

Production is one of the basic processes of an economic system. Indonesia is a country that has a large population with a GDP above IDR 3000 trillion. Most of the Indonesian economy is supported by UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in various sectors ranging from agriculture, manufacturing, handicrafts, services and so on. Yogyakarta is one of the places where various UMKM sectors grow, and every year the number of UMKM in Yogyakarta continues to increase. Indonesia is a country that crossing the equator, the climate in every region in Indonesia is very fertile. This certainly makes business opportunities in the agricultural sector, one of the agricultural sector cultivation that has the potential to be developed is the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. The advantages of oyster mushroom cultivation opportunities support the community with little business capital. Oyster mushroom farmers also do not need a large area of land, and the harvest period is not long. Oyster mushrooms can be harvested almost every day after 3 months from the seedling period, this is certainly an advantage for farmers because of the long harvesting period. Planting Oyster mushroom is also not complicated and there are not many pest threats faced. When compared with the cultivation of other plants, of course, oyster mushrooms have added value with the least threat of pests and cultivation techniques that are not too difficult. The nutritional value of oyster mushrooms is also very much so that many people consume it. One of the oyster mushroom farmers who has been in this business for a long time is UD Tiram Jaya, which is located in Bantul, Yogyakarta. It has been more than 5 years that UD Tiram Jaya has been producing oyster mushrooms and the business is growing. To find out more about the potential for oyster mushroom cultivation, it is necessary to conduct a business analysis. Several previous studies related to strategic management used SWOT analysis techniques to assess the feasibility of a business. SWOT analysis measures the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that exist. The position of a company in its industrial environment will also be seen with a SWOT analysis. So this analysis is important to do to find out the best business opportunities and strategies that will be faced.
