Abstract

Poverty is one of the main problems facing Indonesia. Likewise, the Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta which has a number of poor people as much as 247,000 people in 2020. Based on data obtained from BAZNAS (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional) zakat distribution can help reduce the poverty rate of mustahik. LAZ (Lembaga Amil Zakat) Rumah Zakat in order to help government programs to reduce poverty levels organizes various programs, one of which is the Desa Berdaya Program. The purpose of this study was to determine how the level of poverty and welfare of mustahik after the distribution of zakat from Rumah Zakat. The sample in this study amounted to 52 mustahik families from 67 Desa Berdaya in the DIY Province. This research uses the CIBEST Model analysis tool, this model was developed by Beik and Arsiyanti in 2017. The CIBEST model measures poverty from two aspects, namely material aspects and spiritual aspects. The results of this study indicate that zakat has an effect on reducing the poverty level of mustahik and increasing the welfare of mustahik with the acquisition based on the CIBEST Model the material poverty index decreased from 71 percent to 54 percent and the welfare index increased from 28 percent to 46 percent. While the spiritual poverty index and absolute poverty index are 0 (zero).
