Abstract

Economic growth is related to the production of goods and services in the community's economic activities and is measured by increasing production and income. The formulation of the problems contained in this study are 1). Does the number of processing industries affect economic growth in DIY Province?, 2). Does GRDP affect economic growth in DIY Province?, 3). Does the number of workers affect economic growth in DIY Province?. This study aims to determine how much influence the processing industry has on economic growth in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2011-2019. Types and sources of data using a quantitative approach with secondary data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2011-2019. The research variables consist of economic growth variables (Y), and processing industry variables (X). The conclusion of this study shows that the manufacturing sector has an effect on economic growth in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This industrial sector is the second largest contributor after the tourism sector. keywords: economic growth, processing industry, GRDP, number of industries, number of workers
