Abstract

Performance efficiency is a measure used to see the level of welfare of the local community. This welfare indicator is proxied by the number of poor people in the area. This study aims to measure and analyze the level of fiscal performance of districts/cities in North Sumatra Province in 2014-2019 using the Stochastic Frontier Approach (SFA) with the help of Frontier 4.1 sofware. Then, from the result of the efficiency value, it will be used as the dependent variable and panel data regression test with variables that are thought to have an influence on the coefficient value, these variables include population, education, and GRDP to the help of the Eviews 10 sofware. The results of this study indicate that the average level of efficiency in the fiscal performance of regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province in 2014-2019 has not yet reached the optimal efficiency value. Then, the panel data regression results show that simultaneously the variables of population, education, and GRDP have an effect on the efficiency variable of fiscal performance. Partially the population and education variables have a negative and significant effect on the efficiency of fiscal performance variables. Meanwhile, the GRDP variable has no effect on the efficiency of fiscal performance.
