Abstract

The economic development of a country, particularly a region, is not independent of the management of human resources. As a result of this process, people will be able to benefit from it. Labor is a fundamental aspect of human life because it includes social and economic dimensions. One goal of economic development is to provide adequate work opportunities to pursue faster growth of the workforce than is a job opportunity. The study was intended to learn the impact of PDRB, population size, salaries, and UMKM on the absorption of labor in the Banten province. The type of data used in the study is secondary data from the statistical central body (BPS) of the Banten province. The study uses a data panel analysis as a data processing tool that constitutes the time series and cross-section of 4 counties and 4 cities in the Banten province from 2014 to 2019 and its analysis using a Stata/SE 13.0 program. Variables used include the Bruto Domestic Products (x1), Population Numbers (x2), Minimum Wages of the District (x3), Small and Medium-size Microfinance (x4), Labor Absorption (y). Regression analysis shows X1, X3, and X4 positive and significant effects on Y with significant values of 0.020, 0.029, and 0,000. While the X2 has a negative and insignificant impact on Y with a significant value of 0.078.
