Abstract

This study aims to examine effect of macroeconomics and company characteristics on performance of Islamic banking before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study using Panel Data Regression analysis and Pairet Sample-test for the period June 2019 until March 2021. The results of the panel test indicate to inflation, GDP, BOPO has a positive and significant effect to Islamic banking performance, CAR has a negative and significant effect on to Islamic banking performance and FDR has a positive and insignificant effect to performance of Islamic banking. Meanwhile, the different test (Pairet Sample-test) indicate there are differences in the inflation and BOPO variables in the performance of Islamic banking, and for the GDP, CAR, FDR variables, it has there is no difference between before and during the COVID-19 pandemic to performance of Islamic banking.
