Abstract

This study aims to determine how family communication among adolescent users gadget during the Covid-19 pandemic and the factors of family communication among adolescentusers gadget during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative method, with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this study were families with fathers working outside the city and adolescents aged 12-15 years. Data has been collected using interviews, the interaction model proposed by Miles and Huberman is used in this study's data analysis. The validity of the data is tested in this study using the source triangulation technique. . The results reveal that there were two types of family communication: verbal and nonverbal. Technical obstacles are encountered during the communication process between parents and adolescents. Efforts by parents to maintain communication with adolescents, such as diverting the attention of adolescent from gadgets. There are factors that influence family communication in monitoring the use of gadgets in adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic.
