Abstract

The background of this research is because the integration of multicultural education in Islamic religious education learning is very important to direct the potential and personality of students in the world of education. This research was conducted to prevent division between people. Therefore, learning Islamic religious education is not merely a subject value. However, Islamic religious education is also expected to have more contribution to the existing reality. The purpose of this research is first, to know the concept of multicultural education at SMAN 3 Bantul. Second, to find out the learning model of Islamic religious education at SMAN 3 Bantul. Third, to find out the integration of multicultural education values in Islamic religious education learning at SMAN 3 Bantul. The method of this research is qualitative research. Researchers conduct research related to the integration of multicultural education values in Islamic Education learning from September 2020 to November 2020. SMAN 3 Bantul. Data collection techniques by interview, observation and documentation. Based on the results of research on the Concept of Multicultural Education Values at SMAN 3 Bantul, that schools apply the concept of education that is adapted to the diverse cultures of students. In this study the focus of research is on Islamic religious education. Because at SMAN 3 Bantul, there are students with different religious backgrounds, in the implementation of religious education, schools apply the concept of learning that is tailored to the religion of each student. In addition to holding Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, the school also organizes Hindu, Christian and Catholic religious education lessons. The Islamic religious learning method implemented at SMAN 3 Bantul is carried out by several methods, including the method of discussion, lectures and assignments. The Integration of Multicultural Education Values in Learning Islamic Religious Education at SMAN 3 Bantul includes equality and justice, tolerance and freedom as well as diversity and pluralism as well as diversity and pluralism.
