Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know how the learning styles and student mathematics learning results. This study also aims to find out whether learning style has a significant effect on student mathematics learning results. This research is a correlational study with an ex post facto approach. The variables of this study consisted of independent variables, namely learning styles and the dependent variable, namely student mathematics learning results. The population in this study were seventh grade students of Baitul Qur’an Ponjong Junior High School in the 2020/2021 academic year as many as 93 students. The sample of this study was class VII C Baitul Qur'an Ponjong Junior High School for the academic year 2020/2021 as many as 25 students. The instruments in this study were a questionnaire for learning styles and documentation of PAT (End of Year Assessment) results for mathematics learning results. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. Data analysis was carried out with the help of IBM SPSS Version 26 software. The results showed that: (1) student learning styles are included in the good category with a tendency for visual learning styles of 44.4%, auditory learning style by 25.9% and kinesthetic learning style by 29.6%, (2) student mathematics learning results are included in the good category with 51.9% in the range of 50 – 75, (3) learning style has no significant effect on student mathematics learning results with a regression coefficient of 0.035.
