Abstract

The average contribution of citrus fruit production in the Special Region of Yogyakarta to the fulfillment of the consumption of the citrus fruit processing industry in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is 14.43% so that to be able to meet the overall consumption needs of the citrus fruit processing industry, an increase of 85.86% is needed. This study will analyze how to fulfil the needs of citrus fruit consumers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which is then simulated with a System Dynamics approach to producing several alternative policies as an effort to increase the competitiveness of local citrus fruits against imported citrus fruit products through increasing local citrus fruit production. Based on the simulation results, the growth rate of supply of citrus fruits from East Java and imports of citrus fruits continue to grow due to the increasing number of consumptions. But on the other hand, the amount of citrus fruit production in the Special Region of Yogyakarta continues to decline. If this is not immediately found the root of the problem and how to solve the problem, then in the next few years, there will be an increase in the number of imports of citrus fruits and the supply of citrus fruits from East Java in bulk. The selection of the best scenario his based on the priority standards of the government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (The Department of Agriculture and Food Security of the Special Region of Yogyakarta) base on budget availability.
