Abstract

This research was motivated by the Covid-19 outbreak that hit Indonesia since early March 2020. The existence of this pandemic outbreak indirectly caused changes in all sectors of community activity, including education. So in accordance with the Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Education in the Covid Emergency Period, MI Ma'arif Darussalam Prambanan implements a home study system. The form of change in learning which was originally face-to-face at school, to distance learning carried out at home, is a new challenge for both teachers and parents. The aims of this study are: 1) To find out how the role of parents in fostering learning discipline in students, 2) To find out what factors influence it. This research is a qualitative research. A qualitative approach is an approach that is seen in terms of elaborating a data. Collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation and data verification. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate: 1) There are many roles of parents in fostering children's learning discipline, including providing learning assistance, providing PJJ facilities, making habituation and applying regulations. 2) The factors that influence it can come from outside and from within the individual, such as awareness in the individual of the importance of learning, the existence of rewards or punishments as well as media and learning models used by teachers.
