Abstract

Psychosocial development is personality development related to behavioral and social relationships. Psychosocial development has stages, where each stage has a critical period or a developmental task that must be passed. This is where the role of the family is needed as the first educator, in creating good psychosocial development. The research method used in this study is a mixed method with Concurrent Embedded Strategy. The research subjects are young families in Pasuruan Penengahan Village, South Lampung. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews and documentation, with a sample population of 27 young families with children aged 2-6 years. The results showed that most of the parenting styles for young families applied the democratic type of parenting by 52.18%, with the psychosocial development of early childhood having a good category of 52.18%. seen from the results of a simple regression test, the results of the analysis of the value of Sig < 0.5 or 0.035 < 0.05, Hi is accepted, meaning that parenting has an influence on the psychosocial development of early childhood. Thus, the research can be concluded that the parenting pattern of young families in shaping the psychosocial development of early childhood in Pasuruan Village, Penengahan District, South Lampung Regency is said to be good, but there are attitudes of parents who still apply authoritarian and permissive attitudes so that it shows some children have a quiet attitude, shy and still dependent on his parents. Therefore, this study recommends parents to use a balanced type of parenting between parents and children such as democratic parenting. So that children can behave and socialize well. according to their child's development
