Abstract

Corruption is still a major problem for the Indonesian nation as evidenced by the Report on Monitoring Trends in Corruption Cases by Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Wana Alamsyah in Semester I of 2020 which explains that there are 169 corruption cases during the first semester of 2020. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. itself based on the results of monitoring from Jogja Corruption Watch (JCW) which stated that the handling of corruption cases in the Special Region of Yogyakarta was not optimal. Various efforts have been taken and have yielded results. In assisting the process, there is the role of the prosecutor's intelligence in uncovering criminal acts of corruption as evidenced by several news stories that were found regarding the success of the work of the prosecutor's intelligence. However, in Law Number 16 of 2004 concerning the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Indonesia and Law Number 17 of 2011 concerning State Intelligence, it has not been specifically regulated regarding prosecutorial intelligence in the criminal justice system in Indonesia, the author is also interested in how the prosecutor's intelligence mechanism in revealing corruption, and whether the mechanism is in accordance with the laws and regulations. This research is descriptive-analytical in nature, which collects and describes all data relevant to scientific work written in this case, which is related to the existence of prosecutor intelligence in the criminal justice system in Indonesia and the prosecutor's intelligence mechanism in uncovering corruption crimes. If it has been collected, it will be arranged in a structured manner and then analyzed using a normative-empirical approach. This approach focuses on facts in the field according to the results of interviews and data obtained as well as applicable legal regulations. Then it is related to the concept of integrated criminal justice system and law enforcement theory. The result of this research is that prosecutor intelligence has an important position in the criminal justice system in Indonesia. Prosecutor Intelligence is part of the prosecutor's office which provides intelligence support for the implementation of the duties and functions of the prosecutor's office, especially to the work units in the General Crime Sector and Special Crime Sector, which are the position of Prosecutor Intelligence as judicial intelligence or law intelligent with a significant main mission, namely to support the success of law enforcement in case handling. The disclosure of cases of Corruption by the Intelligence of the Yogyakarta Special Prosecutor's Office is carried out through the investigation function which is divided into 4 stages, namely the stage of receiving information / data, the stage of collecting data and information materials, the processing stage of data analysis and information materials, and the stage of submitting data and information materials. The mechanism carried out by the Intelligence of the Yogyakarta Special Prosecutor's Office is to carry out an investigation function that is in accordance with the laws and regulations.
