Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgency of character education itself, both within the state and religion. In Islam, character or what is called morals is one of the main teachings of Islam, even the prophet Muhammad SAW in one of his hadiths said that "I was sent to perfect morals". In the state, character is the ideal of our national education. One of the very strategic elements in internalizing character values is school. This study aims to determine the description of PAI learning during the Covid-19 pandemi at Diponegoro Junior High School Depok, to describe the internalization of character values in PAI learning at Diponegoro Junior High School, Depok and to describe the impact of internalizing character values on students at Diponegoro Junior High School Depok. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data used triangulation of sources and the method was further analyzed by the interactive model of Milles and Huberman which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: first, PAI learning at SMP Diponegoro Depok during the covid-19 pandemi. Overall PAI learning is the same as usual. The difference from before the pandemi and now is in the method. Namely online and face-to-face learning. Second, the internalization of character values at SMP Diponegoro Depok is carried out through: PAI learning in the classroom, namely character values are already contained in every material in Islamic religious education subjects. Then through the self-development program, namely any activities that aim to instill character values. The self-development programs are: Mujahadah, PHBI, Congregational Prayer, Reading the Qur'an and Tahfid, Sunnah Fasting, Pilgrimage, Qurban, Recitation, Character Education, Ramadan Fasting , Night building and school rules. Third, the embodiment of values which include eighteen (18) character values. It's just that there are dominant character values, namely the value of love for the homeland, tolerance, sosial care, democracy and curiosity. There are also some character values that are still lacking and there must be improvements, namely: independent, friendly, creative, likes to read and loves peace.
