Abstract

TGH Husnul Hadi as a leader of Nurul Quran Aziziyah islamic boarding school is known as a pious, simple, humble person and he can develop tahfidz islamic boarding school which he leads significantly. By that reason, the writer was interested in studying about the leadership of TGH Husnul Hadi in developing tahfidz Quran program. This research was aimed to find types and strategies in developing tahfidz Quran program, also the problems which might be found in developing this program at Nurul Quran Aziziyah islamic boarding school. This is a qualitative research with case study approach. The instruments used were observation, interview, and documentation. There are some steps in analyzing the data: prepare the data to be analyzed, read the data, analyze the data with data coding, apply data coding process to describe the setting, people, category, and themes that will be analyzed. Describing themes in form of narratives or qualitative report, and interpreting the data. Source and technic triangulation are used for the data validitation. The result of this research shows that (1) democratic leadership is used by TGH Husnul Hadi, (2) organization development, team development, and innovative behavior are the strategies that were used by TGH Husnul Hadi in developing tahfidz Qur'an program. A few methods are applied in innovative behavior: listening, talaqqi, takrir, tahsin, and tartil methods. Some obstacles that might find in developing this tahfidz Qur'an program are: students who stay at boarding school often move when their recitation isn’t finished yet, there are a few students that don’t stay at boarding school makes the process of recitation not maximal, and students' abilities in recitation and tahsin (read Qur'an correctly) are different.
