Abstract

Quran hifz programs are the flagship programs of Mu'adz Bin Jabal 4 Islamic Kindergarten and Qurrota A‟yun Kindergarten. The implementation this program requires proper management in order to optimize the memorization program to achieve the expected targets and objectives. This qualitative research was conducted in the form of a comparative research. This research analyzed the management of the hifz program including: planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of theQuran hifz program in Mu'adz Bin Jabal 4 Islamic Kindergarten Keparakan and Qurrota A‟yun Kindergarten Babadan. Research data were collected through observations, interviews and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed based on an analysis model proposed by Miles and Huberman which steps included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data were tested using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of this research showed that the planning of the Quran Hifz Program in Mu'adz Bin Jabal 4 Islamic Kindergarten was arranged based on the proper steps including the determination of objectives, targets, series of activities, activity implementation, schedule, places, equipment and budget required. The one in Qurrota A‟yun Kindergarten was also arranged according to this proper planning step, yet it has not yet determined the series of activities for the program. The program organization in Mu'adz Bin Jabal Islamic Kindergarten 4 was not specifically designed, yet training and xiii development activities were done for all supervisors including the school principal. Qurrota A‟yun Kindergarten has not yet applied regular recruitment, training and guidance for religion teachers as those activities were conditionally done. The program implementation in Mu'adz Bin Jabal 4 Islamic Kindergraten has been properly conducted suing a variety of equipment varied delivery methods. Meanwhile, Qurrota A'yun Kindergarten lacked of equipment variety and used delivery methods that were limited to only muroja'ah and memorization report. In terms of program evaluation, Mu'adz Bin Jabal 4 Kindergarten has set a clear evaluation reference and design, in which evaluation was carried out in every meeting and monthly report was always created. Whereas, Qurrota A‟yun Kindergarten conducted its evaluation without using a specific evaluation design, in which evaluation was done once a week as reported in students‟ report book. In order to enhance the memorization, efforts should be made in order to transfer the short-term memory to the long-term memory through consistent repetition in both murojaah and the addition of more surah and verses. Adequate management of Quran memorization program in the forms of varied delivery methods would be able to improve students' memorization memory abilities based on the proper development phase of young children.
