Abstract

Art is part of the culture and the means used to express a sense of beauty from within the human soul. In addition, the arts also have other functions, namely developing the character in early childhood as practiced by superior Islamic paud Kendari. Based on this, there are three problem formulations in this study. First, the character values found in the mondotambe dance in Islam paud insan superior kendari. Secondly, the development of character values in the mondotambe dance in Islam paud insan superior kendari. The third reason local cultural values are developed in the Islamic community of superior kendari. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach. The data collection method uses observation, documentation, interviews and triangulation. Data analysis was performed by data collection (data collection), data reduction (data reduction) data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification (concultion drawing and varification). The results showed that (1) The five values contained in the mondotambe dance in Islam superior human beings in Kendari. First is the value of Religious characters. Both values are independence characters. These three values are creative characters. The four values of character responsibility. The five values of the love character of the motherland. (2) the development of character values contained in the mondotambe dance in the Islamic Paud superior people through the process of training, staging and moving in each dance. (3) the reason for local cultural values, especially traditional dance, was developed in the Islamic Paud superior people because in traditional dance the message from the community was in the form of knowledge, ideas, beliefs, values and norms. The resulting dance work is very simple both in terms of motion, clothing and accompaniment.
