Abstract

This research on the development of pictorial card media is motivated by the use of media only in the form of magazines which only display images of unattractive geometric shapes. In addition, the lack of variation in learning models in the process of teaching and learning activities is also a fundamental problem in this study. Through this picture card students can recognize, mention and classify various shapes, sizes and patterns so that it can be a stimulus in increasing cognitive ability to think logically in students The development of this picture card media aims to: 1) Develop products in the form of media picture cards make a match geometry. 2) Explain the results of the feasibility of the media picture card make a match geometry 3) Know the results of the effectiveness of the use of media learning media picture cards make a match geometry. Educational research with the type ofresearch Research and Development (RnD)using two types of data namely quantitative data and qualitative data. The development of instructional media refers to the Borg and Gall model using six steps in its development. The results of the development of the pictorial card learning media meet the very valid criteria with the following test results: 1) The material expert reaches 86% validity, the media design expert reaches 92% validity, the learning expert reaches 100% validity. This shows that the pictorial card media is effective and attractive. 2) The application of learning in class, theresults pre-test of students got a value of 60.33 and theresults post-test of students got a value of 85.5. Based on the analysis using thetest t produces t arithmetic 17.44 and t table 1.753 which means t arithmetic > t table. So it can be concluded that there are significant differences in the level of difference ability, classification, pattern, initiating, planning, and recognizing cause and effect in recognizing the geometrical shapes of students in group B TKIT Al-Farabi before and after using the pictorial card media.
