Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic announcement and the implementation of the new normal on changes in stock prices (whether returns are abnormal or not) and the volume of stock trading transactions. This research used 30 samples of companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index from March to June 2020. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from several official websites available on the internet.The analytical method used is the Paired Sample T-test for normally distributed data and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test for data that are not normally distributed with the IBM SPSS program The results of this research showed that the announcement of the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the new normal had an impact on changes in stock prices and volume of stock trading transactions.
