Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in financial performance, market capitalization, and corporate governance in the JII and ISSI Non-JII. This study used the quantitative method that tests a total of 79 samples, consisting of 19 JII stocks and 60 ISSI Non-JII stocks with an independent sample t-test and Mann-Whitney. The empirical results show that the financial performance of ISSI Non-JII is excellent to the JII, although there is no difference in profitability and solvability. The market capitalization and corporate governance on the ISSI Non-JII are lower than the JII. This study confirms that the classification of the sharia index by OJK is appropriate according to the criteria.
