Abstract

Human resource development is an important element in economic growth. Gender-oriented development is used as an indicator to measure the success of human development without any differences between women and men. This study uses a combined panel data analysis from a cross-section of 34 provinces in Indonesia with a time-series from 2010-2019. The results of the model specification test determine that the FEM approach (Fixed Effect Model) is the best model to use. It was found that gender-oriented development in the education sector as measured by the RRLS variable for women and men was able to significantly boost economic growth in Indonesia, where every one percent increase in the RRLS for women and men was able to encourage economic growth of 155485.4 per capita. The next variable, namely RAHH of women and men in the health sector has a significant effect, but has a negative direction on economic growth in Indonesia. Then in the employment sector as measured by the RTPAK variable, women and men were found to have a negative effect on economic growth in Indonesia, but not significant.
