Abstract

One of the contents of the SKI learning material at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Class VI is the process of Islamization carried out by the songo guardians on the island of Java. The process of spreading Islam was not only carried out on the island of Java but also occurred in several areas outside the island of Java, one of which was the spread of Islam in the Galaiu Watang Lema Kingdom area on the earth of Alor Pantar carried out by missionaries. Evidence of the spread of Islam in Alor Pantar can be found from various relics in several former areas of the Galiau kingdom of Watang Lema, such as calligraphy decorated plates and bowls in Baranusa, Friday sermon books in Kolijahi, handwritten Korans in Alor Besar, old mosques in Lerabain and several eat sultans scattered on the island of Alor Pantar, one of which is in the village of Pandai. The spread of Islam in Alor Pantar is an important part that must be known by the Muslim generation of Alor Regency, especially madrasa students. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of knowing how the condition of the people of the Kingdom of Galiau Watang Lema before the process of Islamization, how the influence of Islamization on the cultural life of the community and what was its relevance to the SKI learning material at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Class VI. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach, namely research by utilizing qualitative data naturally and described descriptively which emphasizes the discovery and use of field data. The process of collecting data was done by using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. While the source of data using purposive sampling technique obtained from five figures descended from missionaries in five former areas of the Kingdom of Galiau Watang Lema. Data analysis techniques are presented in the form of short descriptions that are verified and tested for validity by data triangulation. The results of this study indicate that; 1). Before the Islamization process, the people of the Galiau Watang Lema kingdom adhered to animism and dynamism beliefs, namely believing in the spirits of the ancestors, objects and sea and land creatures that were considered to be able to provide strength, benefits and harm, 2). The process of Islamization in the territory of the Galiau Watang Lema Kingdom had a positive impact on the development of Islam in the Alor Pantar region and the realization of cultural acculturation between Islamic culture and the original culture of the royal community, 3) The entry of Islam in Alor Pantar was relevant to the subject of Islamic Cultural History Class VI Madrasah Ibtidaiyah because there is a similarity in the da'wah method carried out by the missionaries in spreading Islam in the territory of the Galiau Watang Lema Kingdom with the da'wah mode carried out by the Wali Songo in Java.
