Abstract

The selection of the right learning media to stimulate speech delay children is very important so that they do not experience difficulties in learning. One of the learning media that is the focus of this research is an educational game in the form of puzzles and picture cards that can be used as a tool for teachers to stimulate children with speech delay in developing their speaking skills. The main purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of puzzle and picture card games in developing speech delay children's speech skills, what are the factors and impacts of puzzle and picture card games in developing speech delay children's speech skills. This study uses a qualitative descriptive type and approach, the Milles and Hubnerman model with data sources from the principal, homeroom teacher of class A, and parents. This research was conducted at RA Baiturrahman Bima Cirebon. The object of this research is class A students who have 5 speech delay children from 52 students. Data was collected by methods, observations, interviews, and documentation. This study uses data analysis with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique in this study used triangulation techniques. The results in this study showed a number of findings, namely (1) The implementation of the puzzle and picture card game in developing speech skills in speech delay children was quite well done by the teacher because the teacher first planned learning activities in accordance with early childhood education, then the teacher carried out activities learning is in accordance with a plan that covers all aspects of children's development, and the teacher evaluates or provides an assessment of the child's work in accordance with the assessment standards for early childhood education. (2) The inhibiting factor for teachers in implementing puzzle and picture card games in developing speech skills in speech delay children is caused by class conditions that are not conducive because they do not have special classes for teachers to implement puzzle and picture card games for speech delay children, implementation time of implementation Puzzle and picture card games for children with speech delay have decreased due to the pandemic period, and the lack of support from parents who do not repeat learning from school at home, so that teachers have difficulties. However, in implementing the puzzle and picture card game in speech delay children, it is supported by teachers who have the ability to v make good learning designs, are able to master the material, are creative in making learning media. (3) The impact of the implementation of the puzzle and picture card game on speech delay children can increase the vocabulary spoken by the child, can develop the child's speech ability to be better and clearer, can develop the child's ability to express what feelings he wants or feel, can hone the ability of a child's brain to think logically, and be able to solve problems, can make children's concentration better and make children have a patient nature when doing learning activities.
