Abstract

Fostering children's religion from an early age is certainly very important for parents, because this can strengthen the child's foundation so that they are not easily influenced by an unfavorable environment. One way that can be done by educating children through religion, especially knowledge and skills in prayer is by setting an example, teaching the procedure for prayer, explaining to children why they must pray, providing prayer facilities for children, paying attention and also supervising children. The purpose of the study was to find out how the strategies used by parents in fostering children's prayer worship and what were the supporting and inhibiting factors for parents in fostering children's prayer worship. This research method uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. As for the selection of research subjects, researchers used a nonprobability sampling technique with the type of determination of the subject of purposive sampling, namely ten Muslim parents who have children aged 5-6 years and live in a complete house with their parents. For data collection, researchers used interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, for the analysis of research data through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The results showed that: 1) The implementation of prayer services given by parents in Ketapang Village, South Lampung. prayer. However, there are two out of ten parents who still think that the activity of fostering children's prayers is enough to be done at school or at the TPA. 2) Parents' strategies for fostering children's prayer services are carried out differently. However, at the time of the research, there were parents who had not provided prayer services to their children, but only invited their children to pray, 3) The supporting factors for parents in fostering children's prayer services were very diverse, ranging from parental support, facilities and infrastructure. given, showing cartoons that have elements of Islam, the environment, TPA which also helps in fostering children's prayer services so that children can learn about religion from an early age, including about praying. While the inhibiting factors for parents in fostering children's prayer worship are parents who find it difficult to divide their time, moody children, play until they lose track of time, watch TV, other gadget activities that make the child's learning process disrupted.
