Abstract

The focus of this research is the components of interpersonal communication as a process in developing relationships in the "Community of Writing Students" community. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. Researchers try to describe the process of interpersonal communication consisting of components - interpersonal communication in the development of relationships that go through four stages. So that the relationships built by community members both internally and externally of the community can be closely intertwined. Components of interpersonal communication are Source, Encoding, Messages, Channels, Receiver, Decoding, Responses, Noise, Communication Contexts. While the four stages of relationship development that must be gone through are the stages of Orientation, Exploratory Affective Exchange, Affective Exchange, and Stable Exchange. The results obtained from the research that has been done is that the components of interpersonal communication are an integral part of the interpersonal communication process. So each component must fulfill their respective duties and roles in each stage of relationship development. so that the relationship owned by members of the "Community of Writing Students" is closely intertwined.
