Abstract

Religious conversion due to marriage in Indonesia is now increasingly prevalent, this phenomenon causes religious converts to adjust to a new religion and adjust to their partner. This study aims to find out more about how marriage adjustments are made to couples who convert religiously for reasons of marriage, the factors that influence marriage adjustment to couples who convert to religion by reason of marriage and the meaning of marriage to religious converts by reason of marriage. This research was conducted on 3 perpetrators of religious conversion on the grounds of getting married in Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is qualitative with phenomenological techniques. The results of the study said that the three informants felt that the marital relationship that was currently being carried out had reached a happy stage, although they found many problems in it but that did not make the three informants give up on their marriage. The factor that influenced the marriage adjustment of the three informants was the unstable economic situation experienced by the three informants. The view of married life that makes all informants continue to live their domestic lives even though they get a lot of problems in it.
