Abstract

The development of modern music, science, and technology is currently changing people's views on traditional music. This shift in view cannot be separated from the media which always shows the existence of modern art, therefore people will be easily influenced and will be more interested in accessing modern art. Along with the development of globalization, traditional arts in South Kalimantan are almost extinct, where the art of music that used to be the distinctive identity of the area is now starting to be abandoned. This makes the dissemination of information about the art of traditional music, of course, one of which needs to be done by collaborating between the Tanah Laut Regency Library and Archives Service with local artists having a program called Badarau. This study aims to determine the collaboration process between the library and local artists in disseminating information about traditional music in South Kalimantan. In addition, to find out strategies in disseminating information on traditional music in South Kalimantan, as well as to see what obstacles affect collaboration in the process of disseminating information about traditional music in South Kalimantan. The theory used is a theory that is related to the study being researched, namely the theory of collaboration, information dissemination and the art of traditional music. The method in this study is a qualitative research with a case study approach to the Badarau program at the Office of the Library and Archives of Tanah Laut Regency. Based on the results of research in the collaborative process, there are face-to-face dialogue, building trust, commitment to the process, mutual understanding, and interim results. The five processes have their respective roles where good collaboration is collaboration that is able to make a real contribution to the program being implemented. Then the strategy in the collaboration that is carried out is the introduction of targets, selecting the right media by using social media such as Instagram and Youtube, reviewing messages and communicators. Barriers that affect collaboration are community culture, inadequate program planning, government support and lack of innovative ideas from the actors of the Badarau program. The solution offered is a shared awareness of the importance of traditional music and badarau program planning.
