Abstract

One of the worships in Islam is the implementation of zakat, infaq and alms (ZIS). ZIS is a fund issued by someone who has a role in making a significant contribution to poverty alleviation. On the other hand, ZIZ is also an effective solution in improving people’s welfare, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the extent of the role of zakat, infaq, and alms in improving the welfare of the community during the covid-19 pandemic carried out by LAZIS Central Java, Pekalongan Branch. In this study, we use a field research method that uses qualitative methods with an emphasis on in-depth problem understanding aspects. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and the analytical method used, qualitative descriptive analysis. Secondary data is taken from news, financial reports and social media, but Instagram LAZIS, Central Java, Pekalongan. The results of the study show that zakat, infaq, and alms funds have played a role in helping the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the people of Pekalongan City and Pekalongan Regency. LAZIS Central Java Pekalongan branch has several times held programs or distributed donations from muzakki with the main aim of helping the economy of the people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The form of empowerment carried out for the community occurs in the fields of health, education, social and economics as well as da’wah.
