Abstract

As the time goes by, the Covid-19 pandemic has been with the people of Indonesia for more than a year since the first case of Covid-19 happened in March 2020. Various policies have been taken by the government to deal with the pandemic. One of the government’s policies is to implement social distance to break the chain of the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This policy caused economic problems due to an increasing number of unemployment and poverty. Overcoming the bad effects that occur, zakat can be an option in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. So the purpose of this research is to find out the potential of zakat as a solution to deal with the covid-19 pandemic. This research is literature study. Using data sources through research results, journals, articles and books. The results show that zakat has the potential to be a solution in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The optimal management and distribution of zakat can revive the economy and increase the prosperity in society during the Covid-19 pandemic.
